Getting to Koh Jum island, Thailand

Getting to Koh Jum island, Thailand

You might have read all about it, but if you haven’t already heard about Koh Jum you can read about this unexplored island here.

Getting to Koh Jum is easy and is not as expensive as you might think.
From our hotel we booked tickets to go by tourist boat to Koh Jum which seems to be the one and only option. The tickets cost us 400 baht each.

The busride to the harbor is either arranged by the hotel or you can take a local bus or taxi there. That would cost you either 50 or 150 Baht.

Once at the harbor you show your tickets at the counter and go to your boat. There are boats departing to several islands here like Koh Jum and Koh Lanta. Most which are the same boat.

After a good hour the boat will stop in the middle of the ocean to drop off and board new passangers. It is an odd sight looking out on three or four small longtail boats trying to dock the tourist boat.
After a few moments of unorganized chaos you will be boarded to the boat that belongs to your hotel on Koh Jum. All hotels have their own boat on Koh Jum. You do not pay anything extra.

After around 20 minutes on the small boat to the beach you will arrive at your hotel and greeted by the hotel staff.

It really was a easy and effortless journey for us. Have fun on your trip to Koh Jum!
